C.S. Lewis Institute Northeast Ohio is an extension of the C.S. Lewis Institute, which was founded in 1976 in Washington, D.C. Our shared mission reads:

In the legacy of C.S. Lewis, we develop wholehearted disciples of Jesus Christ who will articulate, defend, share, and live their faith in personal and public life.

We develop disciples by:

  • Sponsoring Events which address contemporary issues of faith and culture
  • Creating Resources (audio, video, written) designed to inform, encourage and strengthen faith
  • Cultivating Partnerships with like-minded individuals, churches and organizations
  • Offering Life-Changing Programs such as the Fellows and Mentoring Programs

The Northeast Ohio Fellows Program

The C.S. Lewis Institute Fellows Program is designed to strengthen believers in the NEOH area who want to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ and to be more credible witnesses for him in their sphere of influence.

Staff in NEOH: Dr. Michael E. Zalar, City Director; Bethann Valantine, Fellows Program Director; Daniel Semelsberger, Resident Scholar.

The Fellows Program seeks to impact each participant through engaging with:

  • A curriculum that focuses on themes that engage the mind and heart for the purpose of Christ-centered living and gospel witness.
  • A community of Christians who are committed to engaging with each other through the process outlined in the Fellows curriculum. This process includes meeting in smaller and larger sized groups.
  • A mentor who is committed to providing encouragement and accountability throughout the year.
  • Speakers who are uniquely suited to challenge Christians to cultivate a fully-developed Christian worldview.

The 2023-2024 Fellows Program begins in June of 2023 and continues through June of 2024. Applications can be found at https://www.cslewisinstitute.org/northeast-ohio/

We are working with others to help spark a discipleship movement that will encourage a culture of discipleship in churches and in individual believers.  We are praying that God will raise up leaders and send the Holy Spirit to re-energize the church in America and around the world.
