5th Annual Chris Behounek Memorial Golf Tournament

Welcome to the 5th Annual Chris Behounek Memorial Golf Tournament. 100% of the proceeds from the golf tournament will be going towards preventing suicide and supporting families impacted by suicide. Through the first 4 year's of the tournament we were able to raise over 163k! We couldn't have done it without the love and support of all of the attendees and sponsors and we truly appreciate your contributions to making our first 4 years a huge success.

We lost Chris Behounek to suicide on July 15^th 2018, and the AFSP has been extremely impactful in helping us to manage our grief. We have seen firsthand the impact that the AFSP makes on people’s lives. Chris was a great friend, brother, family member, and son to those of us on the tournament committee. It is our hope that we can raise money for the AFSP and families impacted by suicide through an activity that Chris loved, so that we can reduce the number of people who have to experience the complicated grief that a suicide loss brings and support the people that have experienced the pain of losing a loved one to suicide. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.

To fully achieve its mission, AFSP engages in the following Five Core Strategies:

1) Fund scientific research
2) Offer educational programs for professionals
3) Educate the public about mental disorders and suicide prevention
4) Promote policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention
5) Provide programs and resources for survivors of suicide loss and people at risk, and involve them in the work of the Foundation
