Benefiting RSVP Virtual Programs in reponse to COVID

Digital Technology Training Program for Vulnerable - It became increasingly obvious during Covid-19 that many disadvantaged and atrisk populations in Greater Philadelphia did not have the skills necessary to safely and knowledgably use technology, which resulted in critical isolation, educational deficits, food insecurity, and information and treatment needed to maintain their health and well-being. This program provides training to address the digital divide. 

Family Literacy - Volunteer readers expose Head Start preschoolers to books and reading; parent literacy workshops offer intergenerational support. The Lucky Readers Club and companion materials is a home and school reading incentive program designed by RSVP. 

My Free Tutor - Math and science tutors use an interactive web application to help underserved school students 3rd through college, and veterans, increase their skills (STEM)

STEM Career Awareness - STEM professionals make interactive school presentations throughout the Greater Philadelphia area to introduce students to exciting career pathways in math, engineering and sciences.

America Reads - Trained volunteers coach elementary school students with reading challenges so they are reading on level by grade 4. Early intervention programs prevent students from getting too far behind.

5,250 children were helped through these programs.
