Preston and Parker have chosen to honor a remarkable man by creating this special event. The Alles family warmly welcomes you to the inaugural Drive 4 Dave Tournament.

David Lawrence Rivers, age 78, passed away in McKinney, Texas on July 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease.

Born on June 25, 1944, David spent most of his life in Texas. He graduated from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton and, after attending college in Kansas, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years and earned the Distinguished Service Award. David went on to enjoy a successful and fulfilling career at Executive Printing, a leading print brokerage he founded and operated until his retirement.

A passionate football fan, David was a devoted TCU supporter who attended as many regular season and bowl games as possible, including a memorable trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. He loved the outdoors and could often be found on the golf course, hunting, fishing, or riding his beloved Harley.

David met the love of his life, Beverly Alles, and they were married on March 16, 1974. Together, they traveled the world, visiting nearly every country and celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary with an unforgettable flight to England on the Concorde.

A legendary host, David's backyard barbecues became the stuff of local lore. His grilling expertise was so renowned that he earned designation as both a regional and national barbecue competition judge.

David was a fun-loving soul who embraced life with infectious joy. A proud military veteran and avid golfer, he brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. Even as he faced the challenges of his illness, his love for great dinners, good company, and life's simple pleasures never faded. He will always be remembered for his generous spirit, quick humor, and the happiness he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

David was one of our favorite people. We're honored to celebrate his spirit and preserve his memory through this memorial tournament.
