BENEFITING ALAQUA ANIMAL REFUGE
As the Southeast’s premier 501(c)3 animal refuge and sanctuary, Alaqua believes that every abused, neglected, and homeless animal deserves a second chance.

Since its inception 16 years ago, Alaqua has been committed to providing protection, shelter, and care to animals in need, offering an adoption center, veterinary services, educational outreach, and community programs that touch a diverse constituency far beyond their geographic location.

Alaqua’s federally and state permitted wildlife rehabilitation center also serves as a resource for rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned native Florida wildlife.

During the practice of healing thousands of abandoned and abused animals, Alaqua realized that people could also find comfort through the powerful effects that interactions with animals have on the human spirit and body. By healing both animals and people, Alaqua hopes to help create a kinder, more empathetic, and healthier society for all living souls.
