Each team will be entitled to one throw. Any member of the team may exercise the throw. The throw can be used from any place on the golf course including an out-of-bounds position. The purpose of the throw is to pick up the ball wherever it has landed and to advance it towards the hole by way of a throw. It does not count as a stroke, but merely an extension of the shot. Thus, if one member of the team has an extremely long shot but it is two feet out-of-bounds, one can pick up the ball, throw it towards the green and wherever it lands it will lay one. A throw cannot be used once you are on the green. The throw may be used from the "frog hair." Clue: best place to use a throw is usually on a par 5 when you want to take a second shot and extend it onto the green so that you have a putt for an eagle. Another common use of the throw is when the best shot on a par 3 is in the green side trap. One may stand in the trap and throw the ball towards the hole.
