Celebrating a Legacy of Love, Laughter, and Leadership

The Robbie Putnam Memorial Golf Tournament was created to honor the life and legacy of Robert Thomas “Robbie” Putnam, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who entered Heaven on September 6, 2020, at the age of 34.

Born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina, Robbie was a man known for his infectious smile, his kind heart, and his ability to light up any room he entered. As a Senior Project Manager at Samet Corporation in Greensboro, he was admired for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to his team. Outside of work, Robbie was passionate about life — from golfing and cheering on the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Volunteers to hunting, listening to country music, and spending time with his family and friends around a fire.

But more than anything, Robbie was a family man. His greatest joy was being a husband to his wife, Megan, and a proud father to their two children, Peyton and Raegan. He loved golfing with his son, watching his daughter dance, and teaching them both the importance of kindness, strength, and perseverance. He was the kind of dad who showed up, cheered the loudest, and led with love.

The annual Robbie Putnam Golf Tournament was established as a way to celebrate Robbie’s life and continue the legacy of positivity, hard work, and love that he lived by. What began as a tribute has become a cherished tradition — one that brings together friends, family, and community members to honor Robbie’s memory while supporting the future of the two people he loved most: Peyton and Raegan.

Proceeds from the tournament go directly toward ensuring that Robbie’s children have the same opportunities, encouragement, and support he always dreamed of providing them. Each year, this event serves as a reminder that while Robbie may no longer walk beside us, his laughter, generosity, and spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
