23^rd Annual Marriott Miracle Weekend

Our event is designed to support The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. For over 20 years the Chicago Marriott, Renaissance and J.W. Marriott Hotels and Resorts have hosted hundreds of events and raised over $1 Million for Lurie Children’s Hospital. In 2016 the Marriott Miracle Weekend event raised $49,000. Please help us reach our 2017 goal of $50,000. Funds raised remain local to help create miracles of health and healing for babies and children of our local communities.

MEET MATTHEW!

“Today we celebrate a huge milestone in our journey. Today we celebrate Matthew being 5 years out of treatment.

No one would have ever believed that this day would come. I hoped and prayed for it. When Matthew was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumor at 4 days old, we were given little to no chance at survival. Every medical statistic told us that my son was going to die. We have faced more obstacles than I can even fathom and yet he has smiled, laughed, given us hope when I wasn't sure how much more we had in us.

He's been through 9 brain surgeries, he's spent almost half of his life inpatient. He's fought through countless seizures, thousands of blood draws (most not drawn from his line), and through it all his strength has lifted me, his mom, when I should have been the one holding him.

Today we celebrate. We celebrate that day that we had to make the decision to stop chemo. We celebrate the journey we've been on. We celebrate the prayers. We celebrate each and every day that God has blessed us with. We celebrate the fact that Matthew's testimony has continued through his life and not his death. That is something that we never take for granted and we are so thankful for.”

This summer the Crane's Landing Golf Course at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort expereinced severe flooding due to rain in the area.  Unfortunately, the floodwaters did not recede as quickly as needed and the course had to be closed for the season.  This required us to move the golf portion of the event to a new venue just a few miles away.  We will continue to hold all other activities (Registration & Breakfast, Reception & Awards) at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort, but the golf portion of the event will be held at the Arboretum Golf Course in Buffalo Grove.  Shuttle service will be provided to and from the tournament.
