The SSJ Invitational is a fundraiser for the Stephen S Johnson Memorial Fund. The tournament is an annual event to honor Stephen’s memory by bringing together his family, friends and members of the local community who share his passions by indulging in one of them - golf.  The fund's mission is to continue Stephen's passion for helping others by giving to a number of carefully selected causes. 

In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic we will be donating to these specific causes this year & our 2021 scholarship will be awarded to an individual who is pursuing a college education in nursing, medicine, mental health or emergency services:  New Hampshire Charitable Foundation  COMMUNITY CRISIS ACTION FUND  and  Womenade of Great Squamscott.        

The SSJ Memorial Scholarship: at Exeter High School, on an annual basis, helps provide financial assistance to a graduating Exeter High School senior that is pursuing a four-year college degree. With the generous donations from the past five years the fund has awarded four students from EHS a $10,000 scholarship each.

• The 2019 SSJ Memorial Shcolarship was awarded to Exeter High School senior Ava Comeau who is attending Mount Holyoke College majoring in Political Science & hopes to attend law school. Ava finished her first semester with a 3.9 GPA and is an active member of College Democrats and has applied to be a peer writing mentor.

• Elise Donovan, 2018 recipient,  who is attending Hobart William Smith College is working towards completing her double major in International Relations & Environmental Studies. Elise made the Dean's list this past spring and continues be  involved with writing for The Herald, William Smith Student Government, Debate & playing club soccer. “I want to thank you for the scholarship, as it has been a big help in allowing me to fully engage in my campus community and devote more time to my studies.”

• Brandon Mello, 2016 recipient, is on track to graduate from UNH as a Mechanical Engineer & this past fall was accepted into the Accelerated Masters Mechanical Engineering program. He has applied to MIT, Northeastern University, BU & Worcester Polytech for graduate school. He will intern again this summer as a Mechanical Engineer at Seurat Technologies and you will see him playing again at the SSJ this year!

Other Donations: In addition, the fund proudly contributed $5,000 to the Dana–Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Davey Hovey CRUS11TOUR Endowment Fund, and helped sustain and support the following local organizations:
