On February 23, Dean suffered a severe spinal injury during a skiing accident that left him with a serious break in his spine. As a result, he was urgently transported by helicopter to Freodert, where he underwent surgery.

After enduring numerous surgeries, there was a time when the doctors believed he might never walk again. However, his unwavering determination and diligent commitment to physical therapy have led to remarkable progress. He can now navigate with a cane, displaying incredible resilience and strength in his journey toward recovery.

Proceeds will go toward funding future physical therapy sessions that would otherwise be out of pocket.

 

Brooke Zickert

 

 

On Saturday, December 17, Brooke experienced a sudden and severe headache possibly triggered by dehydration, low vitamin D, stress, and weather changes during a trip to visit family for Christmas. The headache persisted the next day, prompting Brooke's husband to suggest seeking medical attention. After returning home, Brooke checked into the ER and underwent a CT scan, which revealed a tumor. She was moved to the ICU and underwent surgery to remove the tumor. Though the surgery was successful, Brooke has been battling grade 4 glioblastoma brain cancer since.

Currently, Brooke's platelet counts are on the rise despite undergoing her third month of maintenance chemo. She's starting her fourth round with only fatigue and minor scalp discomfort, but no major issues.

Proceeds will go toward relieving financial burdens from Brooke and her family.
