Join us for the Vernon Echols Memorial Classic at Eagle Creek Golf Club. As one of the largest and longest running Black tournaments hosted at the renowned course, our three-day event brings golfers to Orlando from across the country. The event incorporates a variety of partnerships with local and national businesses providing lodging, dining, and shopping experiences for our attendees.

An Inspiring Event

The annual invitational tournament began in 1998 when our founder, the late Vernon L. Echols, saw an opportunity to bring awareness to the technology gap in the local community. With a long history of civic engagement and sports enthusiasm, Mr. Echols launched the organization's charity golf tournament with 32 players, and has since grown to over 200 participants. In 2020, in his memory, the tournament was renamed to the Vernon Echols Memorial Classic.

 

Your Support Matters

Proceeds from the tournament provide ongoing educational opportunities and help create more equitable access to technology for underserved youth. Donations allow us to provide S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math) scholarships to students and make charitable contributions to community organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Daytona Beach and Rose Marie Bryon Children's Center.
