Standard Scramble Format

This tournament will be played as a team scramble.

Format

How the Scramble Works

Each player on the team tees off on every hole. After all tee shots are hit, the team selects the best shot. All players then play their next shot from that selected location. This process continues until the ball is holed.

General Scramble Rules

These rules apply to team play, shot selection, ball placement, scorekeeping, pace of play, and final scoring decisions.

1

Team Play

Each team plays as one group.
All players may hit from each selected shot location.
The team records one score per hole.
2

Selecting a Shot

The team may choose any player’s shot.
Once a shot is selected, all players hit from that location.
The selected ball should be marked before it is moved.
3

Ball Placement

In the fairway, rough, or general area, each player should place their ball within one club length of the selected shot, no closer to the hole.
The ball must remain in the same condition as the selected shot. For example, a ball in the rough must be played from the rough.
On the green, each player should place their ball within one putter head of the selected ball mark, no closer to the hole.
4

Hazards, Bunkers, and Penalty Areas

If the selected ball is in a bunker, all players must play from the bunker.
If the selected ball is in a penalty area or out of bounds, standard course and USGA penalty rules apply unless otherwise announced before play.
Course-specific local rules will apply.
5

Putting

Once a putt is made, the team’s score for that hole is complete.
Players may not continue putting after a team putt has been made unless allowed for pace or practice by the course.
6

Scorekeeping

Event scoring will be managed through EventCaddy live scoring.
Each team should choose one person to enter the team’s score after each hole. Please do your best to keep scores accurate as you play so the leaderboard stays current throughout the round.
Before finishing the round, teams should take a quick look at their scores in EventCaddy and make sure everything looks correct.
If something needs to be adjusted, please let tournament staff know before winners are announced.
Final results will be based on the scores entered in EventCaddy and reviewed by the tournament team as needed.
7

Ties

Ties may be broken by scorecard playoff, starting with the lowest score on the hardest handicap hole, then continuing by handicap order as needed.
If needed, the tournament committee will make the final decision.
8

Pace of Play

Please keep pace with the group ahead.
Be ready to hit when it is your turn.
Limit time spent searching for lost balls.
Tournament staff or course personnel may ask groups to pick up and move forward if pace becomes an issue.
9

Final Authority

The tournament committee and host course have final authority on rules, scoring, disputes, and contest results.

Longest Drive Contest Rules

The Longest Drive contest will be held on the designated contest hole.

Contest Rule

Longest Drive

1

Eligible Shot

The drive must be hit from the tee box on the designated Longest Drive hole.
The ball must come to rest in the fairway to qualify.
Drives in the rough, bunker, penalty area, out of bounds, or off the fairway do not qualify.
2

Recording the Drive

If a player believes their drive is the longest qualifying drive, they should move the marker to the location of their ball.
The player must write their name clearly on the contest marker card.
3

Fairway Requirement

Only balls resting in the fairway are eligible.
If there is uncertainty, the tournament committee or course staff will make the final decision.
4

Winning the Contest

The longest qualifying drive at the end of the round wins.
The winner will be confirmed after all groups have completed play.

Closest-to-the-Pin Contest Rules

The Closest-to-the-Pin contest will be held on the designated par 3 contest hole.

Contest Rule

Closest-to-the-Pin

1

Eligible Shot

The tee shot must come to rest on the putting green to qualify.
Balls on the fringe, rough, bunker, penalty area, or off the green do not qualify.
2

Recording the Shot

If a player believes their shot is closest to the hole, they should measure or estimate from the hole and move the marker to the location of their ball.
The player must write their name clearly on the contest marker card.
3

Green Requirement

The ball must be on the putting surface to be eligible.
If there is uncertainty, the tournament committee or course staff will make the final decision.
4

Winning the Contest

The closest qualifying tee shot at the end of the round wins.
A hole-in-one qualifies as the closest possible shot.
The winner will be confirmed after all groups have completed play.

Colored Ball Challenge Rules

The Colored Ball Challenge is a team contest played during the round using one designated yellow ball.

Each team will receive one yellow ball before the round. The goal is to complete the round without losing the yellow ball while following the rotation and scoring rules below.

Team Challenge

How It Works

1

Player Rotation

One player uses the yellow ball on each hole.
The yellow ball should rotate among players in order throughout the round.

Example rotation:

Hole 1: Player A Hole 2: Player B Hole 3: Player C Hole 4: Player D Hole 5: Player A, and so on
2

Yellow Ball Tee Shot

On each hole, the assigned player must hit their tee shot using the yellow ball.
The team may still play the hole using the standard scramble format.
The yellow ball does not have to be the selected scramble shot unless the team chooses to use it.
3

Keeping the Ball

The team must finish the round with the original yellow ball to remain eligible for the Colored Ball Challenge.
If the yellow ball is lost, hit out of bounds and not recovered, or replaced with another ball, the team is eliminated from the Colored Ball Challenge.
The team should continue playing the tournament round as normal.
4

Winning the Challenge

Teams that return the original yellow ball at the end of the round remain eligible.
Among eligible teams, the winning team will be determined by the lowest tournament scramble score.
If there is a tie, the tournament tie-breaker rules will apply.
5

Important Notes

The yellow ball must be the same ball issued to the team before the round.
Teams may not substitute another yellow ball.
The tournament committee has final authority on eligibility, scoring, and tie-breakers.
