FISCH 4 Parkinson’s: Turning Challenge into Advocacy

In 2024, Steve and Lisa Fischlin founded FISCH 4 Parkinson’s, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, supporting those affected by Parkinson’s, and funding initiatives that bring hope to the community. The goal is to help patients live life to their fullest each day.  

Since Steve’s diagnosed in 2018, they have found great hope and meaning in connecting with others who are on a similar path. Together they will attend the Parkinson's Policy Forum in Washington DC this March to call on Congress to accelerate progress toward better treatment and cures for Parkinson's disease. Steve and Lisa will also participate in the The Michael J. Fox Foundation Parkinson’s Advocacy Day at the California State Capitol on Monday, April 13, in recognition of Parkinson’s Awareness Month. 

Golf Tournaments for Hope

The charity hosted its first event, the FORE Parkinson’s Golf Tournament, on August 5, 2024, at Valley Hi Country Club in Elk Grove, CA. With the support of friends and family, FISCH 4 Parkinson’s donated over $26,000 to the Parkinson’s Foundation.  The momentum continued in 2025 with the tournament at Catta Verdera Country Club on August 11, raising over $35,000 for the Parkinson’s Foundation thanks to family, friends, sponsors, and volunteers.  Looking ahead, the third annual FISCH 4 Parkinson’s Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln, CA.  Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Parkinson’s Foundation, with 50% of funds specifically earmarked for the UC Davis Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence in Sacramento.

Steve and Lisa’s journey with Parkinson’s is ongoing. They are part of a dedicated community striving to make a lasting impact for those affected by the disease. Inspired by the connections they have made and the difference they have witnessed, Steve and Lisa are committed to growing FISCH 4 Parkinson’s, forming new partnerships, and supporting the Parkinson’s community. Their encouragement extends to others, believing that every contribution, large or small, helps create a brighter future for Parkinson’s patients and their families. They aspire to empower more individuals to take action, advocate for change, and spread hope.
