The DoorWay is a Christian ministry that provides help and hope to children and their families struggling with the consequences of addiction and dysfunctional lifestyles.
Young people ages 8 to 18 learn strategies to overcome seemingly insurmountable circumstances through prevention counseling, life skills training, and support programming. Individuals undergo a transformation through the inner workings of Christ to overcome their particular situations and begin to influence the world around them. Youth experience the benefits of a vibrant relationship with Christ, committed to zero use of drugs and alcohol and other destructive behaviors. They become role models for family and friends.
Families can also be restored, one member at a time, and become Christ-centered as well, providing homes that are a nurturing environment for children. These serve as reproducible examples to the community around them.
Many stuck in addiction encounter change through a personal relationship with Christ, and are given the tools to overcome their addiction and experience restoration, make restitution, and grow into productive members of society. They become the examples of God’s power to change lives.
The DoorWay is a nonprofit organization providing all services and goods free of charge, with the exception of the court ordered Adolescent Intervention Program. Our doors open more than 130 times each year as youth and adults take advantage of our programs and services. The staff and volunteers spend more than 18,000 hours giving help and hope to those in need. We serve 2500 dinners to our hungry guests, and 3500 snacks and meals (including hotdogs, nachos and popcorn) are shared through the Rec Program.
Please support the young people and families of the communities we serve by golfing in our annual fundraiser, becoming a sponsor of our event, or by simply donating.
