Sophia the Fierce Inc. 2nd Annual Swinging for Smiles Golf Tournament

Sophia the Fierce Inc, is a registered 501(c)(3), founded by 9-year old angel cancer warrior Sophia Benintende. It's our mission to keep Sophia's legacy alive. We are a 100% all volunteer organization. We work to provide relief for kids who fight every day to survive. 

Even while facing her own grueling battle, Sophia was a fierce philanthropist, encouraging her parents to start a charity in her name to help her fellow warriors. Her mission - threefold: respite, research, and relief for children battling cancer. 

Sophia believed nature brings life and freedom. She loved spending time with family and friends. She had dreams to create a getaway home for pediatric cancer families where they could relax and unwind. She talked about stocking a newly built respite house with board games, food, and endless firewood. This was Sophia's core initiative, and why she wanted to start Sophia the Fierce Inc. With every dollar raised, we are one step closer to completing Sophia’s ultimate goal; we are working on finding the perfect location to build a respite house for families to spend time together and make memories. A place where they can escape to, and fish, throw a football, tell stories around a campfire, make smores, play games, and most importantly enjoy each other.

Only 4% of federal funding goes towards pediatric cancer research. More than 50% of funding comes from private foundations like ours. With your support, we will continue to fund a ground-breaking clinical trial led by Dr. Joyce Ohm at Roswell Park aimed at developing a more effective, less toxic treatment option for relapsed Ewing Sarcoma. We are proud to share that so far we have donated $10K to this trial. We are committed to continuing our support of this initiative.

Sophia The Fierce Inc. is dedicated to helping families who have to travel for treatment by supplying gift cards for gas, food and necessities. We help with hotel bills, paying for parking, and assisting with any other travel related expenses. Relief doesn't stop there. We also offer financial relief to families who need assistance with everyday living.
