3rd Annual TI Memorial Golf Outing: Southmoore Golf Course | Saturday August 18, 2018
It has been three years since the passing of TI, however, his lifelong passion for the sport of wrestling and his legacy continue to impact wrestling today and mainly enrich wrestlers from District XI. Tony served as President of the District XI Coaches Association and started the District XI Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame Dinner. Every year this event to recognizes area senior high school scholar-athletes who excel in the classroom and on the mat. It is our goal to continue to make this a first-class event and keep Tony's dream alive. With your support, we can make this happen.
In addition to his contributions in the wrestling community, Tony was a longtime mentor and educator at Bethlehem Catholic High School teaching history for 42 years. He started the school's first wrestling program and continued as the Head Coach for 38 years. Tony was also the owner of The Sports Corner for 38 years. He was the president of UNICO an Italian American Club, Kiwanis and The Knights of Columbus. Among his many accomplishments, he was also inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and founded the Christmas City Wrestling Tournament which is currently known as the Tony Iasiello Tournament
Tony's most significant accomplishment was his family. He was the husband of Terry Iasiello for 45+ years. She was his partner in every adventure of his life and supported all he did for others. He was the deeply loved father of twins, Anthony "Tony," Jr. and daughter, Kristen Boyle and wonderful father-in-law to Trish Iasiello and Sean Boyle. His six beautiful grandchildren - Teighan, Tealyn, Tyleigh, Riley, Tommy, and Luke - brought him such pride and joy. He is missed by his sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.
Ask anyone about TI and they will tell you a story that will bring a smile to your face. He was simply a good person. He had the best laugh and loved to tell jokes. During his career, he gave to others without asking for anything except when it benefited someone else, usually his wrestlers, students, and colleagues. Tony was loved by all and respected by many. He is a legend who will continue to be celebrated and remembered by all those blessed to have him in their lives.
