The mission of Beyond the Horizon is to empower individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and those in the special needs community, along with their families and communities, through advocacy, awareness, education, and support. Our goal is to ensure access to education, professional assistance, and opportunities, enabling them to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.

Our programming includes: 

LINKED- AUTISM SAFETY PROJECT

LINKED is a community partnership with local municipalities and was created to provide a linkage between first responders and members of the Autism community to better support and

understand one another. LINKED provides resources, support & education/training to municipalities. 

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Providing community based events to the autism community, both individuals and family members. These events include sensory friendly activities, family events and sibling supports. 

EMBRACE DANCE

Embrace Adaptive Dance explores how dance education can evolve toward more inclusive pedagogies, curricula, and aesthetics that center disabled dancers, educators, and audiences. This session examines adaptive dance as both practice and philosophy—one that challenges ableist norms by valuing creativity, access, and individuality over uniformity and perfection. Participants will learn how inclusive lesson design supports physical development, social connection, and emotional well-being while fostering belonging and self-expression. Drawing from disability advocacy and disability justice frameworks, this session offers practical strategies for broadening access, honoring diverse pathways in dance, and building programs that move our field toward equity and justice within today’s policy environment.
