Buffalo Warriors Mission

The Buffalo Warriors Hockey program began as an unincorporated organization in the spring of 2012 with the main goal to bring together through the sport of ice hockey military veterans, both male and female from all branches of the United States.   The program’s intent is to provide the veteran players an opportunity for recreation and physical exercise while at the same time providing an informal therapeutic setting fostering self-confidence and overall positive well being.  
The criterion to be a beneficiary of the organization is to be a veteran or member of the military that is enrolled in the Western New York Veterans Healthcare System. The organization embraces all veterans, whether having a physical disability, psychological disability or is considered able bodied.   
Other purposes of the program are to establish public awareness of the difficulties that this nations military and veteran population have integrating into mainstream society after serving their country in combat and non-combat roles.  The program also strives to assist in building similar programs with an ultimate goal of establishing a hockey team at many of this countries Veterans Administration Medical Centers.
