OUR SPONSORS

Dave Gleason was the epitomy of what a supportive wrestling parent looks like. His children DL and Dusty wrestled at Oak Park from 2000-2006 and were part of great programs, each earning all state honors and participating in mulitple team state titles. His daughers Kristi, Karee and Kacy also played sports, which he coached, and graduated from Oak Park HS. His wife Carla has served as the matriarch of the family, serving the family after his passing with poise, grace and tremendous strength.

Dave was tragically killed in an automobile accident in Liberty in 2005, sitting at a stop light. His life was sacrificed, with another man, which saved the lives of many children on the school bus that hit them.

Kristi Gleason passed away in March of 2025 after battling breast cancer for 17 years. Her bright life, inspiring personality and magnetic energy will be missed. The tournament has expanded to encompass the mission to help cancer patients and their families. A 501(c)3 has been formed to more appropriately pursue the mission of helping people "wrestling" with challenges in life. Team Central Charities aims to impact the community through the great sport of wrestling and the people who support it.

To honor Dave and Kristi, Team Central Wrestling club hosts a tournament in their name to help grow and develop the sport of wrestling. Scholarships will be applied for and awarded to participants of the club who show a drive and desire to grow as a wrestler, as well as exhibit qualities that give back to the sport of wrestling. These scholarships will help pay for the expenses associated with wrestling at larger, national tournaments, such as Fargo, where wrestlers get noticed by colleges and increase their chances of collegiate scholarships. We also have a process to select and help families impacted by cancer.

This event also aims to grow commaraderie amongst the wrestling community and those suporting it. Thank you so much for your participation!
