The EROCK Foundation was developed in memory of Eric M. Nettnin who’s 12-year battle with addiction ended tragically on February 14th, 2020. Eric’s determination to beat his addiction was so strong that his relapses made it a clear indication to his family how powerful his disease truly was. Eric saw physicians regularly. He went to several different rehabs, typically of his own requisition. Eric attended NA meetings which he disliked because he had a hard time relating to the young, less motivated audience he was typically grouped with so instead he’d attend AA meetings where he found it easier to relate to attendees. He moved to Florida hoping the distance and unknown territory would help him avoid cravings, but he missed his family too much to stay. Above all else, he prayed to God regularly pleading for help. There was one unexpected hobby of Eric’s that made one of the largest impacts and it happened in the boxing ring. Eric once said to his father Ron, “Dad… if I’m boxing, you know I’m clean” and his family knew it was true.
The EROCK Foundation was created to increase public awareness of addiction, raise money to fund new and improved recovery methods, and honor the lives of the loved ones lost. EROCK funds will go directly to local non-for-profit organizations with the same goal in mind.
