6th Annual Linda DeMarco Memorial Golf Tournament

Over the past nearly ten years with your support and generosity through a variety of fundraising initiatives, we have raised more than $30,000 in our mom Linda's memory. 

We started this fundraising endeavor after losing our mom to metastatic breast cancer in December of 2007. She was thoughtful, generous and so loved. She lit up a room with her smile. She loved her family and friends and always put others needs before her own. 

Linda loved being a nurse, especially in the maternal child unit at DKH where she helped bring new babies into this world. She was generous with her time, especially helping those in need through service committees, even mentoring other women afflicted with breast cancer. Linda was a leisurely golfer, sports fan, avid beachgoer, shopaholic, loving wife, extraordinary mother, nurturing daughter, caring sister, and a thoughtful aunt, cousin and devoted friend. She left her friends and family far too soon, but in her 48 years she touched so many others that her legacy and smile will live on forever. 

We know that she would be proud that in 2015, we created the Linda Allard DeMarco Memorial Scholarship to be given to a Killingly High School senior pursuing a degree in nursing. The candidates must exemplify the extraordinary qualities as our mom; scholar, athlete and supporter of the community. 

We gave our first scholarship in June of 2016 to Bernice Boateng and in 2017 we presented a $1,500 scholarship to Payton Fitzgerald. This year we presented two $1,500 scholarships to Alexis Smith and Grace Higgins. 

With the new 501c3 status our goal is to double our profit in order to provide a four year renewable scholarship in 2019. 

The 6th Annual Linda DeMarco Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the esteemed Connecticut National Golf Club, in Putnam, CT. We will provide a light lunch, hors d'oeuvres as well as dinner. During dinner we’ll have our raffle and tournament prizes. If you are unable to golf, you may still choose to support our foundation through a sponsorship, monetary contribution, or tangible donation for the raffle.
