Barkstrong, Inc. is devoted to making a difference for the veteran’s program at 4Paws for Ability.

For this reason we are excited to announce our official partnership with 4Paws for Ability a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization beginning this year! Donations made are now tax deductible.

On October 18th, 2016, the worst tragedy that a family has ever experienced occurred when Brandon struck the back of a semi that was stopped for construction on I-75 in Troy, Ohio while on his way to work.

Following the family’s terrible loss, there was a tremendous outpouring of support from family, friends, co-workers and perfect strangers. Brandon was weeks away from enlisting in the Marines and had a tremendous passion and desire to serve our country as well as serving others.  We felt called to continue to serve on his behalf and to commit to the work that he felt so passionately about.  We formed a non-profit organization called Barkstrong, Inc. and set out to begin the mission of beginning to serve.  We were familiar with 4Paws for Ability and decided to explore in further detail their service dog program and quickly realized that there was a need for funding for the service dog program for veterans.  This is how Barkstrong and 4Paws for Ability became partners. We decided that a golf outing would be an appropriate fundraising event at a beautiful golf course in the Dayton, Ohio area and the support from friends, family and the community has been overwhelming and very much appreciated.   The love, the support and the commitment that 4Paws for Ability shows to the numerous families that they service is heartwarming and so very special and we’re proud to be partnered with this wonderful organization.  This partnership has enlightened us of the struggles that our veterans live with each and every day and the importance of having a special service dog companion which helps them to lead a more independent life.

We’ve held eight memorial golf outings honoring our son.  To date, Barkstrong, Inc. has donated $119,000 to 4 Paws for Ability’s veteran’s program, with a goal to grow each and every year in order to serve the veterans in every way possible.  In addition to our monetary donation, Barkstrong donated a 2016 Chrysler Impala to 4 Paws for Ability.  This was the last car that Brandon rode in.  It will now transport families that are onsite at 4 Paws for Ability while attending training with their new service dog.  Our next scheduled golf outing is August 23, 2025 at The Yankee Trace Golf Course in Centerville, Ohio.
