My name is Jason Tucker, I am one of the owners of Cap-it, a family-owned business in Kelowna. As many know, my mother Anne, was diagnosed with Cancer in 2013. Anne battled the disease for 9 years, while still being able to help build our family business from the ground up. On May 23, 2022, we lost our mom at the young age of 61.

After posting the news of her passing, people began sharing stories and memories about how our mom had influenced their lives. Our mom was always helping people, either through our business, her 30+ years at Scotiabank or through Scouts Canada where Anne was passionately involved at all levels. Anne could often be found locally at the group level running training programs, cooking for 100+ people at area camps or leading 500+ volunteers at the Provincial Jamboree. Our mother loved Scouts Canada and the influence it had on our own family and thousands of other families across the province.

Amidst reading the hundreds of stories and messages, a common theme came about. People wanted to show their love and appreciation for our mom; in one way or another, they all wanted to help. This is when the idea arose to start a memorial golf tournament in her memory and to raise money to help support the local scouting groups in the Central Okanagan. Thus, we created the Anne Tucker Memorial Golf tournament happening Sunday June 11, 2023, at Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club.
