Our good friend Brandon Lawrence had a tragic accident on August 4th, 2018 that resulted in a broken neck and damaged spinal cord.  His recovery to this point has been nothing but miraculous.  What started with little hope of any feeling or movement has turned into holding his own fork, moving his arms and shoulders, and even stretching out his 6' + body in a standing frame, initiating walking movements with his own muscles.  While he still has a long way to go, all glory goes to God for the progress thus far, and even more glory for the hope that Brandon will be playing with us in this tournament one day soon.  We'd also be ignoring a huge factor if we didn't highlight Angi, Brandon's wife.  The love and commitment to Brandon she has shown since the accident has been nothing short of inspiring.  When we say our "I Do's" along with "in sickness and in health", we never truly expect to face the negative end of those extremes.  If you ever find yourself facing that situation, all you have to do is look to Angi to understand how to live out those vows in grace and love.

The outpouring of support from the community through prayer and other acts of service has been amazing, and we know that without this support Brandon and Angi wouldn't have made the progress they have so far.   Over the last two years, we have seen people build wheelchair ramps, provide meals, renovate Brandon's bathroom, cut his grass, drive him to therapy, donate money, and countless other gestures small and large alike.  We will continue to support Brandon and Angi through this, while at the same time learning from their unmovable faith.

Our small group (in which Brandon is a member) started Close to Home several years ago and we host an annual golf tournament to support the charity.  However, this year, we have chosen to support Brandon and Angi by helping to alleviate some of the financial burden they're going to face during his recovery.

Brandon's nickname within our group is "B", and our motto since the accident on August 4th has been #Bstrong.  We invite you to join us on September 14th as part of the second #BStrong Golf Tournament.  100% of the proceeds will go to Brandon and Angi to help in whatever way they need.
