Camp Cortisol Fundraising Tournament

I am hosting a fundraising 9-hole golf outing for my 2019 Birmingham Marathon BHM26.2 run in support of Camp Cortisol. Camp Cortisol is a new organization in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3). Camp is a place where families of children and adults with a rare genetic form of adrenal insufficiency go, once a year, to meet others in their shoes. Adrenal Insufficency is a life threatening condition which requires close monitoring. People with Adrenal Insufficiency have an impaired, if not no, ability to produce cortisol which is a life sustaining steroid produced by the adrenal glands. In the most extreme cases the ability to produce aldosterone is also impaired. There is no cure for this form of adrenal insufficiency and it requires daily medicine several times throughout the day.

The bond formed at Camp Cortisol are monumentous for our community and will serve the children as they grow into adulthood. These children, unlike the generations before them, will never have to feel alone in handling their adrenal dysfunction.

Since Camp Cortisol is not affiliated with BHM26.2, all funds associated with my run will be the only funds raised for this charitable cause. Please join us for a shotgun of 9 holes of best ball format golf, dinner and fun!
