The Dayton Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament will be on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Yankee Trace.  The Knights supports the many great Warren County and Dayton KofC charities and this year the Purple Heart Foundation.

The KofC is a fraternal organization of Catholic Gentlemen that work year-round to help raise funds for many great organizations in our community.  This year's featured charity is the Purple Heart Foundation.

The Purple Heart Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports veterans who have been awarded the Purple Heart, which is a military decoration given to those who have been wounded or killed in action. While the foundation operates nationally, its impact on Ohio, like in other states, can be seen through various programs and initiatives that aim to assist and improve the lives of Purple Heart recipients and other veterans. The Mayor of Springboro OH, is a Purple Heart recipient.

  • Financial Assistance: The Purple Heart Foundation often provides financial assistance to veterans in need. This assistance may include grants, scholarships, or direct financial support for medical expenses, housing, or other essential needs.
  • Veteran Support Services: The foundation may fund and support programs that offer a range of services to veterans, including job training, counseling, and healthcare services. These services can benefit veterans in Ohio by helping them reintegrate into civilian life and address any physical or mental health challenges they may face.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: The Purple Heart Foundation is involved in advocating for veterans' rights and raising awareness about the challenges they may encounter. This advocacy can influence policies and programs at both the state and federal levels, ultimately benefiting veterans in Ohio and across the country.
  • Education and Scholarships: The foundation may offer educational opportunities and scholarships to veterans and their families. This can be particularly beneficial for those in Ohio who are seeking to further their education and skills after leaving the military.
  • Community Outreach: The Purple Heart Foundation may engage in community outreach initiatives to connect with and support local veterans. This could involve partnerships with other organizations, hosting events, or participating in community programs that directly impact veterans in Ohio.
  • Medical Research and Support: The foundation may contribute to medical research efforts focused on improving the treatment and care of veterans, including those in Ohio. By funding research and supporting medical facilities, the foundation helps address the unique health challenges faced by Purple Heart recipients.

This is our chance to take a small step in making a big difference while enjoying friends and golf at the beautiful Yankee Trace Golf Course on Monday Sept 9th.
