Dean Greer, PGA

1963 - 2024

Dean got his start in the golf business as an Assistant at Poolesville Golf Course within the Montgomery County Revenue Authority in 1994. He was named the Head Professional at Laytonsville Golf Course in 1998, where he earned his PGA membership in 1999. He stayed at Laytonsville for 14 years, until the end of 2011. Since then, Dean worked as a Head Professional, General Manager, and Assistand Professional roles at various courses, recently landing the Head Professional job at Richland Golf Course.

Dean loved working with his fellow PGA professionals. It insprired him to participate in Chapter governance. In 2008, Dean was elected as Central Chapter Secretary, leading ultimately to him being elected as Central Chapter President for 2012 - 2013. While at Laytonsville, Dean was a major figure in player development. He was honored first with the 2003 MAPGA Youth Player Development Award and later the 2010 MAPGA Player Development Award.
