About DCTC

Founded in September 2021, Desert Crown Theater Company is the only community theater group local to the Vail and Corona de Tucson, Arizona areas. Being off the beaten track, we noticed a lack of opportunities for the youth in our area to work with and explore essential extracurricular activities. One area that was noticeably absent was an emphasis in the performing arts. DCTC provides opportunities such as low-cost camps and workshops for the youth to develop self-confidence, self-expression, artistic outlet, and leadership training. We likewise wanted to provide a creative outlet for adults: to reignite their passion for being on stage or to introduce them to the craft, we do so with community stage productions and adult workshops. This is an all-inclusive theater which welcomes all levels of experience, all ages, and all those who love theater! Performing arts are not just for fun, they are proven essential to people's well-being, nurturing creative thought processes, and providing safe havens for individuals that are drawn to performance.

Desert Crown Theater Company is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, overseen by a volunteer-based Board of Directors. These dedicated volunteers oversee the artistic and operational aspects of the company, often serving as production staff for our youth camps and seasonal productions. Currently, we operate out of rented spaces at local schools and churches.

Our first annual golf tournament efforts will contribute to our dream of securing a brick and mortar location to operate from. Having a building of our own will allow us to offer year round youth programs and a safe space to create our productions. We are grateful to those supporting our efforts and those that cherish the arts!
