About the Lake Trust Foundation

Your support of the Lake Trust Foundation helps Michigan.

Impact takes all of us. By working together and supporting one another, we can build and sustain stronger communities. The Lake Trust Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to make a positive impact in Michigan through grants, donations, outreach programs, and scholarships. Our work supports underserved populations, small business and entrepreneurial education, revitalization in local neighborhoods, and post-secondary education.

Support from the Lake Trust Foundation has contributed to local revitalization efforts, given back to small businesses, and offered hope for those in need. From awarding over $690,000 in grants and donations, to providing over 616,236 meals to area food banks, we’ve worked together with our supporters to make an impact. Since 2013, we've been able to award a total of 61 scholarships through our two scholarship programs to individuals in Michigan, equating to a cumulative total of $1.7 million. Through generous donations and partnerships, the Lake Trust Foundation can continue supporting impactful causes that improve the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities in Michigan.

 

The impact of your sponsorship.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, over $100,000 in proceeds were raised during our golf invitational in 2022. These funds had a direct impact on local communities and helped support the following organizations:

• Scholarship program: In 2022, we awarded a total cumulative value of $432,600 in scholarships to help advance the trades and in-demand careers in Michigan. 
• University of Michigan Impact Investing Group: A $12,5000 grant to this student-led nonprofit helped small businesses in Detroit and Ann Arbor, with a focus on supporting women- and minority-owned businesses, access affordable microloans and consulting services.
• Mend on the Move: A $5,000 grant was awarded to Mend on the Move, a nonprofit that focuses on employment and overall wellbeing opportunities for survivors of abuse in Metro Detroit. The grant will help the makers set personal and professional goals, provide resources, timelines and the accountability to achieve them.
• Love for a Child: A $12,000 grant was awarded to Love for a Child, a nonprofit that provides cost free services and resources to children and families in Michigan's foster care system. The funds helped send 15 children to summer camp followed by 10 months of direct mentorship. 
• Haven House: On behalf of Rick and Brenda Laber, we were able to provide a $5,000 donation to Haven House. Haven House works to guide and support Lansing area families who face homelessness on their paths to stable homes. 
• Powered by Good Day: On Powered by Good Day in October 2022, over 300 Lake Trust team members came together to put together almost 20,000 essential kits that were donated to nonprofits across Michigan to aid those who may be experiencing homelessness.
