JP’s of Friday Harbor and the Salish Sea Sim-Golf League (SSSGL) are excited to announce the inaugural LeapFrog Sim-Golf Open!  Get ready for two weeks of golf enthusiast camaraderie as you face off against another team for a chance to make Simulated history on San Juan Island.

 

EVENT DETAILS

To bring golf lovers together during the wet and windy months, JP’s of Friday Harbor and the Salish Sea Sim-Golf League are preparing for a two-week sim-golf tournament played at JP’s on their state-of-the-art TruPro Vista 12 Pro Golf Simulator.  If you’ve never played sim-golf you are sure to love this!! Bring your own clubs, use your own balls, and play 9 holes on the best courses in the World, without worrying about muddy lies, buzzing bees, lost golf balls, or the occasional island gator!

 

REGISTRATION:  Interested Teams can begin registering immediately either by emailing SalishGolf@gmail.com or at the following website: https://app.eventcaddy.com/events/friday-harbor-leap-frog-open . All registrants should have a Team Name, Partner Name, and be prepared to pay the one-time, per-person registration fee of $50 or $75 depending on the desired package. Digital ticketing is through EventCaddy.com and you will be prompted to pay upon registering. At point of booking you will receive a registration email with a link by which to choose your tee-time. PLEASE NOTE: ALL TEE-TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO POTENTIAL REBOOKING SO AS TO PAIR TEAMS INTO FORESOMES!  

Tee-times will be available on a first-come/first-served basis, as two teams will meet any night (except for Tuesdays) during the Tournament timeframe (from 2/29-3/29).  A total of four teams will face off on weekends, with WEEKEND tee-times available at Noon as well as 4:00pm. Again, these are first-come/first-served so REGISTER SOON AND CLAIM YOUR IDEAL TEE-TIME!!!

 

FORMAT:   This Twosome Team Scramble will pair you against a few foes (to “Keep it Fair”) in an all-out battle for the lowest score.  Tee times fall between February 29th and March 29th and are scheduled through the organizer as first-come/first-served (you will receive an email by which to choose your tee-time shortly after registering). 

 

Upon arrival for your tee-time at JP’s, you’ll get your “tee sheet” (including a scorecard & mulligan allotment), order some snacks, and begin your round.  Each team must choose 3 drives from each golfer. Teams submit an attested scorecard after the round is complete.  

 

At the end of the tournament there will be a final Gala on March 30th, where CASH PRIZES will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams---along with prizes for side-game winners. Appendix A contains additional Format details.

 

PRICING:  We’ve thought of tons of value to make the entry worth it and leave a little on the table for our community.  In addition to your included Entry components, we hope to build gift bags with additional value to be used throughout the community.

• $50 Individual ($100/Team) Buy-In Includes: Tournament Entry (Your 9-Hole Golf Round), a 1-Hour Practice Round Voucher, & During Match Snack (Chips & Salsa). 

• $75 Individual Pro Buy-IN Includes: Tournament Entry (Your 9-Hole Golf Round), a 1-Hour Practice Round Voucher, During Match Snack (Chips & Salsa), Party Favors, 1 Additional Mulligan per person, Entry Into ALL FOUR Bonus Contests: Leap-Frog Mini Tourney (to take place at the Awards Ceremony Gala), Long Drive, Closest to Pin & Beat-The-Pro.

APPENDIX A

HANDICAPS

Handicaps are required to keep things fair.  If you don’t know yours, please register your average 9-HOLE score and we’ll create a handicap for you. Combined Team Handicaps will be used to allot per-player Mulligans.

• HCP Less than 10 = 0 Mulligans

• HCP 10 – 15 = 1 Mulligans 

• HCP Over 16 = 2 Mulligans

MULLIGANS

Mulligans can be used on TEE SHOTS ONLY.

GIMMIES

Gimmie putts are set to 5 feet. 

 

RULES

Twosome teams will be paired together as a foresome for accountability sake.

On the day of (or prior to your Tournament Round you will receive a Scoring “Tee  Sheet” with additional detail.  This will include more of the following:

• Simulator Icon "Legend" or Key

• Tournament Round Format

• Player Handicaps (and thus, Mulligan allotment—& how to use them)

• Player bonus contest eligibility (NOTE... Mulligans CANNOT be used in side-game qualifying shots)

 

It is our goal to have a fun and memorable Tournament and expect each participant to exercise proper etiquette, respect and courtesy while playing.  

 

Once your round is complete, you will need to click the “SCORECARD” tab on the Simulator, take a photo and submit that to the organizer at SalishGolf@gmail.com where it will be verified and added to the leaderboard.
