Guts Distribution Center

In Oklahoma, more than 656,000 people struggle with food insecurity every day. A few startling statistics include:

• 15.8% People live in poverty
• 21.2% Children of families live below the poverty line
• 34% Single parent households
• 16.2% Households with food insecurity
• 53.9% Students receive free school lunches
• 4% Veteran unemployment rate, 8% below poverty & 408 homeless

 

The Guts Church Distribution Centers in Tulsa, Skiatook and Sapulpa host a variety of free programs to directly impact these struggles. These programs run entirely on donations and help hundreds of families every week. The programs include: 

• Farmer’s Markets every Monday distributing free, fresh produce
• Friday Groceries every Friday distributing free, weekly groceries
• Free clothing
• Free school supplies
• Free diapers (lack of diapers are one of the leading causes of child abuse in Oklahoma. There are currently no state programs that cover the cost of diapers, a necessity for all children)

 

As of 2019 the Guts Distribution Centers have handed out:

• Over 330,000 bags of groceries to families in the Tulsa, Skiatook, and Sapulpa communities
• Over 520,000 articles of clothing 
• Over 20,000 diapers 
• Over 15,000 toys to children during Christmas
• Over 10,000 backpacks with school supplies and new school shirts to Tulsa students

 

The Guts Distribution Center is celebrating our 10th anniversary this April as a Tulsa food pantry. As part of our growth, we are now a food bank, helping to source over 15 other food pantries in the Tulsa and surrounding areas. 

 

We partner with several organizations in the community, providing a safe environment for community service, as well as free clothing and groceries to those they serve, including:
Tulsa County Community Service, New Leaf, Caleb’s Cause Foundation, Family and Children's Services, Youth Villages, Broken Arrow Neighbors and Neighbor for Neighbor
