Rodeo Association’s Mission Statement:
The mission statement of the Hubbard Rodeo Association is to take a proactive role in the community to enhance and revitalize the cowboy way of life by providing a professional and safe environment for present and future competitive rodeo athletics to compete, practice, and learn.
History
The Hubbard Rodeo Association was formed as a result of the actions of the Rodeo Committee of the Hubbard Chamber of Commerce. On September 18, 1996, Donna Riddle was appointed chairperson of the Rodeo Committee by Chamber President, Eugene Fulton. Within months, the Committee formed the Association and established by-laws governing the affairs of the Hubbard Rodeo Association, Inc., a non-profit corporation organized under the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act with a 501(c)(3) status.
The Association was formed for the purpose of re-establishing a rodeo tradition of the area, particularly Hubbard. The Association’s goal of providing a state-of-the-art facility with the finest of rodeo tradition and entertainment began operation on
May 8, 1998, with a team roping event.
The facility is ideally located in the heart of the growth triangle in Texas, with IH 35 and 45 access by State Highway 31 and 171. The area is experiencing a rapid growth rate that is expected to continue as the larger metro areas expand along the major thoroughfares in Central Texas.
The Mooney Holloway Arena is equipped to handle all aspects of rodeo and associated activities. When the association has no scheduled events, the Arena is for lease to other events.
The Association plans to use or lease the multi-use facility throughout the year to provide a much needed recreation site in this rural setting.
The youth and adult events have been a success for both contestants and spectators. The feed-back interest has been very positive toward future events.
