2nd Annual Golf Tournament in Memoriam of Wesley Furtado

Wesley Furtado was a beloved mentor and brother to us in the Longshore Industry. Rising to become one of Hawaii's most influential and respected labor leaders of our time, Wesley's 42-year journey from the waterfront to ILWU International Vice President continues to inspire us. His passion for social justice and workers’ rights, coupled with remarkable negotiation and organization skills, earned him the love and respect of union members across the globe.

After his passing in 2020, the Legion Group formed a scholarship fund in memoriam of Wesley Furtado to benefit students, early-education to higher-education, in the Hawaii Longshore community.  A portion of the proceeds raised from the golf tournament will provide scholarships to qualifying students based on financial need and academic merit.
