About Jim

Jim’s big personality is what he is known best for.  You could hear and recognize his voice a mile away.  Always the life of the party. Always smiling.  He could arguably have been the most likable guy around.

He had a seriously competitive nature that was a force to be reckoned with.  Winning and being the best at what he did was everything. Whether it was sports, work or anything he set his mind to.  Conversely, he would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it.  Always there for family and friends.  His wife Laura, and Daughters Andrea and Brooke were Jim's most cherished treasures. He was a caring and dedicated Husband and Father.

Jim was also a highly dedicated Elite Women's Softball Coach.  He coached hundreds of girls, including his own daughters, many of whom went on to have successful collegiate careers.  His involvement in coaching led to lasting friendships with his "Softball Family".

When he wasn't busy coaching or riding around in his beloved Porsche, Jim was on the golf course.  He had a deep passion for the game of golf. He would play whenever possible, and often revolve his schedule and workday around tee times.  He played on the Tour of Greater Boston for several years, and had hopes of joining the PGA Senior Tour someday

Unfortunately, shortly after his 50th birthday, Jim was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia-an aggressive blood cancer.  In addition to his remarkable positivity, he had a world-renowned doctor and outstanding care team at Tufts Medical Center.  He received the most cutting-edge treatments, underwent a bone marrow transplant and made it through the crucial “100 Days”.  Despite all of that, he passed away after an 18-month full scale war with AML.

Jim left a lasting impression on all who met him, and will always be remembered for his Tenacity, Intensity and Humor.
