The David Mustin Foundation presents A Day of Golf to Support Jon's Fight Against Cancer.
Who We Are:
The David Mustin Foundation is a small nonprofit organization based in Ormond Beach, Florida. May 4, 1990, when David was paralyzed in a football accident at Seabreeze High School the community rose up in so many ways to help. Our mission is to be able to do the same for the community as it did for his family.
What We Do:
Giving back and paying it forward to our community in hopes to make a change one life at a time. You might not see our names in the headlines, but that is the way we like it as we are able to give back a little bit at a time. From supporting and sponsoring youth sports, helping feed the hungry, local veterans, providing scholarships to graduates who have overcome adversity, to helping those who are less fortunate in our area, and to anyone with a disability who just might need a little help, etc.
How We Help:
Whether by word-of-mouth or a headline in the newspaper the David Mustin Foundation tries to make it a point to reach out to those in need. Being a small nonprofit we are currently only able to hold a single fundraiser per year with hopes to be able to add more events during each year. With only holding one event we are also able to raise funds through online donations and giveaways thanks to our partners. We love our beautiful city and surrounding areas! And, we love being able to give back to as many as we can even though you might not see us do it. We thank all of those who have contributed over the years and to those who hopefully will start today.
Jonathan Marcello's Story
Jon is a loving father, husband, and friend to many. In 2015, Jon was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia just one month after finding out he and his wife, Yazmin, were expecting their first child, Meadow.
Jon has always had a positive attitude and great work ethic. He quickly progressed to General Manager for Hooters of America in a short period of time since joining the company. In addition to his great work ethic, this man has the MOST positive attitude and outlook on life. He is a role model for all and hasn't let his diagnoses interfere with his ability to wear a smile daily. Frequent visits to Shans Hospital and various specialist is something that has become a norm for Jon. Even with Jon's positive attitude and great work ethic, one can never truly prepare for the uncertain path while battling cancer.
Jon is now facing one of the most trying and strenuous times as his Doctors have informed him his cancer is becoming more aggressive. He must now face the high's and low's of chemotherapy. What's to come during this time of treatment will not only have harsh effects on Jon, it now brings a great financial burden to him and his family.
Our goal is to be as selfless as Jon. We want to raise all the funds we can to help him and his family with the expenses of his chemotherapy medication and infusions.
Thank you for your time and contributions.
Your support and generous donation today will enable us to meet our goals for the future and help fund our mission of making change one life at a time.
