About Kim

Kim Rose is a wife, mother and Grammy. She takes pride in her “cuties” whom she calls her 7 grandchildren. In 2011 the Rose family opened their first Wings & Rings location in Finneytown, the community where Kim grew up, raised her 4 children and still lives today. They opened their second location in 2017 in Beckett Ridge. Her two restaurants and her family have been the core focus of Kim’s life for the last several years. In 2018, at only 57 years old, Kim was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia. Frontotemporal Dementia or FTD is a rare form of dementia that affects the frontal and/or temporal lobes of the brain and unlike other more common forms of dementia, it comes on much earlier in life. Today, there is no cure for FTD, and no treatments are available at this time to slow or stop the progression of the disease. 

The last several months have been especially difficult. We have seen significant progression in Kim's disease. In September of 2023, she suffered a stroke and had to have emergency, life saving, surgery. Remarkably, she was able to pull through this very dangerous surgery and a challenging hospital stay.  It is a tragic process to watch someone you love struggle with language and changes in behavior, but in spite of the heartache felt by the entire family, we remain thankful for the ways we have been blessed. Kim continues to be happy and joyful and loving to those around her. She is a true fighter and continues to surprise us as she battles this terrible disease.

The Cause

All proceeds raised during the Kim Rose Cure for FTD Golf Outing will be donated to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD). AFTD's mission is to improve the quality of life  of people affected by FTD and drive research to a cure. You can learn more at www.theaftd.org.
