Kim Rose is a wife, mother, Grammy, and a beloved part of the community. She has always taken immense pride in her family, especially her seven grandchildren, affectionately calling them her “cuties.” Her life has been centered around family, her deep ties to the local community, and the two Wings & Rings she and her family built together—first in 2011 in Finneytown, where she grew up and raised her four children, and later in 2017 in Beckett Ridge.
In 2018, at just 57 years old, Kim was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), a rare and devastating brain disease that affects the frontal and temporal lobes. Unlike more well-known forms of dementia, FTD strikes earlier in life, bringing heartbreaking changes to personality, behavior, and language. There is currently no cure, and no treatments exist to slow or stop its progression.
Over the past few years, we have witnessed the relentless effects of this disease. In September 2023, Kim suffered a stroke and required emergency, life-saving surgery. Against the odds, she pulled through, demonstrating the same strength and resilience that have defined her entire life. While FTD continues to take its toll, Kim remains a source of love and joy. Although she has significantly slowed down, her smile, her warmth, and her fighting spirit continue to inspire everyone around her.
Our golf outing was created in her honor—not just to raise awareness and funds for FTD, but to celebrate the incredible person Kim is and the love she has always shared so freely. As we enter our third year of this golf outing, we thank the community for their unwavering support of our cause and for showing up year after year, bringing so much love and joy on this day. It is our way of turning heartbreak into hope, ensuring that other families facing this disease know they are not alone.
Thank you for standing with us, for honoring Kim’s journey, and for supporting the fight against FTD. Together, we can make a difference.
All proceeds raised during the Kim's Cure for FTD Golf Outing will be donated to the Giving Voice Foundation. The Giving Voice Foundation is dedicated to advocating for individuals living with dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases, providing essential resources, and raising awareness.
