Modern Freemasonry began with the forming of the Grand Lodge of England in 1717.  The second Grand Lodge formed in Scotland.  The third oldest Grand Lodge in the world is the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts charted in 1733.

King David Lodge A.F. & A.M. was charted in June 1798 and has been meeting every month continuously since in Taunton.  Next year is the lodge's 225th anniversary.  In preparation, the lodge is holding several fund raising events for this special event.
