Kirk K.G. Sheridan Gillenwater (1968–2023) was a dedicated family man, military veteran, and community leader from Huntington. He graduated from Huntington East High School in 1986 and attended Marshall University, where he played football before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. Serving for 16 years as a Logistics NCO, he received an Honorable Discharge and later earned a master’s degree from Marshall University.

Kirk was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and actively contributed to his community through city council service and organizing DI Greyhound tournaments. A man of faith, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

He is remembered by his wife, Tami Gillenwater, his children Ashley Gillenwater, Julia Ferguson, and Bailey Gillenwater, as well as his siblings, grandchildren, extended family, and many close friends.
