About our tournament:
The Ladies of the Lakes Quilters' Guild (LLQG) warmly invites you to join our Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, October 3rd, at the beautiful Kingswood Golf Club in Wolfeboro, NH. For decades, Ladies of the Lakes Quilters have made hundreds of charity quilts weekly at the Wolfeboro Community Center. Quilts are given to children receiving life-saving medical treatment at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital while they reside with their families at David's House in Lebanon, NH. Quilts are also donated to the Child Advocacy Center in Wolfeboro for youth receiving services related to abuse, and comfort quilts are made for folks who have suffered a family tragedy.
We were informed last August that the Wolfeboro Community Center was slated to be closed and demolished and that we must vacate. With your help, the Wolfeboro Community Center will be renovated with private funds by the Community for the Community. Help us save and restore this useful facility to be used, once again, for family events, club meetings, and so many other activities that the Wolfeboro residents used to enjoy. This fun event is a great way to support your community and make sure that one of the town's historic properties is restored and preserved for years to come.
100% of the profits from this tournament will go to the restoration and 100% of the fun goes to the golfers who take part in the event. The tournament is a Scramble; foursomes are Men, Ladies, or Mixed. The Shotgun Start is at 9:00 am and Grab & Go Breakfast and Packet Pick-up starts at the Clubhouse at 8:00 am. Pre-registration is a must.
Your entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, prizes, and lunch with a variety of sandwiches and salads from the Club's Sand Trap Restaurant. We'll have an auction, raffles, and a chance to win $10,000! Prizes will be awarded for the best men's, mixed, and ladies' teams, as well as on-course games. While you're enjoying lunch, we'll announce the winners of the auction and contests. Bundle your opportunities for savings!
Package Deal - $35 (25 Raffle Tickets & 2 Mulligans)
Pay only $20 when you pre-order your Package Deal with registration!

Want to know more about our organization?
The Ladies of the Lake Quilters' Guild, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, had its first meeting on September 10, 1979 at the Wolfeboro Community Center with eight local quilters. For over two decades members of the LLQG have met weekly at the Community Center to make charity quilts for hospitalized children and comfort quilts for adults who have suffered a personal tragedy.
The Old Firehouse (now Wolfeboro Community Center) was built in 1922 as Wolfeboro’s original firehouse and was repurposed as the Wolfeboro Community Center when the new fire station was built in 1972. In the fall of 2025, the Wolfeboro Select Board was pressured to close the Community Center - based largely on misinformation- and to begin designing a brand-new replacement facility, estimated to cost taxpayers approximately $4.5 million. That plan would have meant higher staffing and maintenance costs, and the loss of a historic and still-useful community space. Supporters of the Wolfeboro Community Center renovation note that restoring the existing building with private funds represents a significant savings and would allow the LLQG to have a place to continue to meet and perform their charitable work, and remain in the home where they were founded.
Wolfeboro resident Darwin Moulton recalls on Facebook, “I remember when they built the new public safety building across from the hospital and they converted the old firehouse into the community center. The 4-H and the Abenaki Trail Riders, a horse group, had some of their meetings there in the day. It is a shame to see how much history is crumbling down in a town that boasts about itself being the oldest summer resort.”
“It is so sad,” Melissa Morgan adds on Facebook. “This is the exact point of this town, keeping the historic value and preserving these buildings.”
The Wolfeboro Community Center serves as an important stand alone gathering place, not just for LLQG quilters, but for all Wolfeboro residents, and an affordable place for young families to have birthday parties, baby and wedding showers, holiday parties, club meetings, and similar functions.
Your participation will help save the Wolfeboro Community Center and maintain the historic character of the Wolfeboro that we all love and remember.
To date, almost 50% of our goal has been raised. For more information, go to www.wolfeborocc.com.
