Thanks to your generosity, last year’s “Lithuanian Open” raised over $7,000 for children’s causes in Lithuania and to our local Lithuanian American community here in New England. As was presented during last year’s tournament, we allocated $6,000 for medical equipment to the Šiauliai Childrens and Womens Hospital, which included a Wrist Traction Device, Stainless Steel Finger Traps, and Finger Trap Sizer Kit which is used to set children’s bone fractures. Special thanks to Susan Gagnon for arranging the purchase and delivery of the system to the Šalių Hosptal in Lithuania. We also allocated $1,000 to the Boston Lithuanian School, which continues to tirelessly provide Lithuanian language instruction for grades K-10 with over 125 children attending from all over the eastern New England area. Again, thank you for your participation and generosity.
