About Look Local First 

What is Look Local First? 

Look Local First is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting small businesses and strengthening local communities. Through events, partnerships, and creative collaborations, we connect people with entrepreneurs who make our communities thrive. Our mission is simple: to make it easier, more fun, and more meaningful to support local businesses, because when small businesses succeed, communities grow. 

What is the Look Local First Classic?

The Look Local First Classic is a community-driven golf tournament that brings together small business supporters, local leaders, and golf lovers for a fun day on the course, all while raising awareness and support for small businesses in our community. 

Where does the money raised go?

All proceeds support Look Local First and our mission to uplift, promote, and create opportunities for small businesses through events, resources, and community programs. 

Registration and Participation

What's included with my registration?

Registration includes:

• 19 holes of golf 
• Cart rental 
• Tee gift
• Lunch and post-tournament meal 
• Two drink tickets 
• Two raffle tickets 
• Access to on-course games, contests, and prizes 

Is the Look Local First Classic open to golfers of all skill levels?

Absolutely! The tournament is played as a four-person scramble (best ball), making it an excellent fit for golfers of all skill levels. This format keeps the game moving, takes the pressure off individual players, and makes the round more fun for everyone. 

Whether you golf every weekend or only a few times a year, this event is about having fun, connecting with others, and enjoying a great day on the green. 

What is the team size for the Look Local First Classic?

Teams consist of four golfers. If a twosome registers, they will be paired with another twosome to create a full team of four. 

Tournament Format & Rules 

How is the tournament played?

The Look Local First Classic is played as a four-person scramble (best ball):

• Each player tees off. The team selects the best shot, and all players hit again from that spot until the ball is holed. 
• Two-putt maximum. If your first putt on the green is missed, pick up your ball, add one stroke, and move on to the next hole. 
• Tee Assignments:
  • Men-White tees 
  • Women-Red tees 
  • Seniors (55+)-Gold tees
• Please maintain the pace of play with the group ahead of you!

Schedule, Check-In, & Logistics 

When is golfer check-in, and how does it work?

Golfer check-in begins at 8:00 AM. To streamline the process, one golfer from each team will check in the entire team. 

Each team is responsible for ensuring they are fully checked in, as check-in is required to receive lunch and drink tickets, raffle tickets, and tee gifts.

The person who registered the team will receive a text message the day before the tournament with their assigned starting hole. On the morning of the event, teams will locate their numbered carts, which correspond to their starting hole. 

There will be clear signage on-site directing golfers to the check-in table. 

Food & Beverage 

Will lunch be provided during the tournament?

Yes, lunch is included with registration.

Timing and location details will be shared with golfers before the event.

Will food be available after the tournament?

Yes. Additional food will be served during the awards ceremony, courtesy of Look Local First and our awards sponsor. We encourage golfers and guests to stick around and celebrate. 

Spectators

Can non-golfers attend or spectate during the tournament? 

Yes. Non-golfers are welcome to spectate at Holes 18 and 19. Spectators must remain mindful and respectful of golfers and gameplay at all times.

Spectators can purchase food and drinks inside the clubhouse, which is conveniently located near both holes.

Weather Policy 

What happens if it rains?

The Look Local First Classic is a rain-or-shine event. Play will continue in light rain or minor delays. If lightning or severe weather creates unsafe conditions, play will be paused or delayed. If lightning or severe weather creates unsafe conditions, play will be paused or delayed until it's safe to resume. If conditions do not improve, cancellation decisions will be made on-site with player safety as the top priority. 

Prizes & Awards

What prizes and payouts are available at the LLF Classic?

Payouts will be awarded to the top two teams in three flights, along with on-course challenges and a style prize.

Flight Payouts

• First Flight: 1st $1,200 | 2nd $600

• Second Flight: 1st $600 | 2nd $400

• Third Flight: 1st $400 | 2nd $200

Best Dressed Team

• $200 prize

On-Course Pin Prizes ($50 each)

• Longest Drive: Men Hole 2 | Women Hole 3

• Longest Putt: Men Hole 6 | Women Hole 11

• Closest to the Pin: All players Hole 3

• Closest to the Pin in Two: All players Hole 18

If a pin prize is on your final hole, please turn in the marker with your scorecard.

Awards and raffle winners will be announced in the clubhouse immediately following the tournament.

Attire

Is there a dress code for the LLF Classic?

Have fun and go all out. Creative, coordinated, and bold looks are encouraged.
The Best Dressed Team will take home a $200 prize.

Who can sponsor the Look Local First Classic?

We welcome sponsorships from entrepreneurs, small businesses, and organizations that believe small businesses are the heart of our community. Sponsors are partners who share our commitment to uplifting local businesses and building strong communities.

Can my business sponsor the tournament?

Yes, and we’d love that. Multiple sponsorship levels are available.

When can sponsors check in and begin setup?

Sponsors may check in and begin setup at 7:00 AM. This early access allows our team to support your setup and ensure your activation is fully ready before the shotgun start.

This dedicated time helps us provide sponsors with a white-glove experience and avoid congestion with golfer check-in.
