About the Lake Trust Foundation

Your support of the Lake Trust Foundation helps Michigan.

The Lake Trust Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to make a positive impact in Michigan through grants, donations, outreach programs, and scholarships. Our work supports underserved populations, making sure everyone has the opportunity to share their voice and pursue their dreams. By helping our neighbors, we can build and sustain stronger communities.

Support from the Lake Trust Foundation has contributed to local revitalization efforts, given back to small businesses, and offered hope for those in need. From donating nearly 3,000 winter coats to Michigan students to providing over 150,000 meals to area food banks, we’ve worked together with our supporters to make an impact. Our scholarship program has also helped 39 individuals pursue their goals since 2013, which equates to a cumulative total value of $779,160 in funds toward access to education throughout Michigan.

The impact of your sponsorship.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we raised nearly $95,000 during our golf invitational in 2020. These funds had a direct impact on local communities, as we provided a grant to the American Red Cross for COVID-19 antibody testing and contributed to our scholarship program. We also donated to local area food programs and provided a grant to the Fair Food Network’s Double Up Food Bucks program. This program provides a dollar-for-dollar match on the purchase of fruits and vegetables for SNAP recipients.

In 2020, Eastside Community Action Center (ECAC), a Lansing-area nonprofit that served the community throughout the pandemic, was awarded a grant from the Lake Trust Foundation. Due to the economic effects of the pandemic, the ECAC saw a 50% increase in need for their food services last year. With a portion of the grant funds, ECAC was able to purchase a new freezer, which increased the amount of food they had available to help the community. Additionally, ECAC recognized an increased need for access to technology and the internet. Our grant helped improve the infrastructure of their technology and gave local residents access to computers to help with unemployment benefits, job searches, and educational opportunities.

This year, we hope to make an even bigger impact. And provide hope for more people in Michigan. Join us on our mission to create stronger communities. There’s power in you. And together, there’s power in all of us.
