1st Annual Remembrance Golf Outing
The 1st Annual Remembrance Golf Outing, hosted by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA), is scheduled for Friday, September 11th, 2015 at Ruggles Golf Course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Events like this one have enabled the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of AAAA to raise over $1.8 Million Dollars to support the Fisher House Foundation, raise over $100,000 to fund scholarships for local service members and their families, and the ability to send over 10 tons of health, welfare and everyday products to Service Men and Women supporting our Nation overseas.
While this is the first year for this specific tournament, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of AAAA has hosted golf events at Ruggles Golf Course for nearly 20 years. We anticipate an exceptional day for all golfers on a great course for three very worthy causes; the Fisher House Foundation - Helping Military families by providing 5.2 million days of lodging and 50,000 plane tickets to improve quality of life through their toughest times; the AAAA Scholarship Foundation - Providing educational opportunities to Soldiers and their families and the St. Baldrick's Foundation - proud to fund lifesaving research throughout the world, awarding $154 million in grants that focus on all major types of childhood cancers, allowing the foundation to fund more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization except the U.S. government.
Shotgun start at 8:46 a.m., with an 18 hole four-person scramble format. Prizes and awards will be presented for winning teams, hole-in-one and several other contests.
The cost to play is:
There are also several corporate sponsorship packages. By becoming a sponsor, you will help military families be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury; help enable the higher education of our Service-members and their families; and help the 175,000 children worldwide that are diagnosed with cancer each year, where in the U.S. more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease - more that AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined. The Fisher House Foundation, the AAAA Scholarship Foundation and St. Baldrick's Foundation are private 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable corporations and contributions to the golf event are partially tax-deductible.
