Caledon Special Olympics is part of a worldwide charitable organization, Special Olympics, providing sport opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. As a grass-roots organization, Caledon Special Olympics relies on volunteers at all levels of the movement to ensure that every athlete is offered a quality sports training and competition experience. Our athletes look to our volunteers for inspiration, guidance and coaching. Caledon Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting respect, acceptance, inclusion and human dignity for people with intellectual disabilities through sport.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Caledon Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics uses the medium of sport to assist persons with an intellectual disability to become all that they can be - physically, mentally, socially, emotionally, and to become accepted, respected and productive members of society. Special Olympics may contain elements of play, recreation or physical education, and should also assist athletes in participating meaningfully and successfully in all dimensions of a physical active lifestyle.
