About the Lake Trust Foundation

Your support of the Lake Trust Foundation helps Michigan.

Impact takes all of us. By working together and supporting one another, we can build and sustain stronger communities. The Lake Trust Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to make a positive impact in Michigan through grants, donations, outreach programs, and scholarships. Our work supports underserved populations, small business and entrepreneurial education, revitalization in local neighborhoods, and post-secondary education.

 

Support from the Lake Trust Foundation has contributed to local revitalization efforts, given back to small businesses, and offered hope for those in need. From donating nearly 3,000 winter coats to Michigan students to awarding over $405,000 in grants and donations, to providing over 616,236 meals to area food banks, we’ve worked together with our supporters to make an impact. Through our scholarship program and partnership with Cleary University, we’ve awarded a cumulative total value of over $1.2 million in college and trade school scholarships since 2012 to support the dreams of individuals in Michigan. Through generous donations and partnerships, the Lake Trust Foundation can continue supporting impactful causes that improve the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities in Michigan.

 

The impact of your sponsorship.

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, over $90,000 in net proceeds were raised during our golf invitational in 2021. These funds had a direct impact on local communities and helped support the following organizations:

• Scholarship program: In 2021, we awarded a total cumulative value of $462,600 in college, trade school, and Cleary University scholarships.
• University of Michigan Impact Investing Group: Our $5,000 grant to this student-led nonprofit helped small businesses in Detroit and Ann Arbor, with a focus on supporting women- and minority-owned businesses, access affordable microloans and consulting services.
• Community Housing Network: A general fund donation of $8,000 assisted with housing emergencies for veterans, domestic violence survivors, and those with mental health issues.
• Growing Hope: Teen Leadership Program: Our $10,000 contribution helped 16 teens attend the summer program where they work on an urban farm, participating in workshops, and expanding their knowledge of sustainable agriculture.
• L.E.A.D. Foundation: A $5,000 donation helped underprivileged athletes access food, shoes, tutoring services, mentoring services, and more.
• Jamar’s Jammies: For the fourth year in a row, the Foundation provided a $2,500 donation to provide new pajamas to underprivileged inner-city youth through this charitable outreach initiative created by a Cleary University student.
• Larry M. Trice Sr. (LMTS) Outreach: We provided a $5,000 donation to this nonprofit, which helps individuals and families in need in the Lansing area by helping people with housing and utility needs, access to fresh food, and clothing for job interviews.
