In November of 2016 we lost a mediocre golfer, but an above average man. Bob Clone may not have been the best golfer, but he loved to golf. He was a member of multiple golf leagues, took yearly golf vacations, and enjoyed golf as a way to spend time with his friends and family.

Bob was also active in the local community. Growing up in Eaton Rapids and raising his family in Holt, he supported local athletics and was a coach to many young men. He started the Holt Junior Rams Baseball program, which has been sustained well beyond his tenure and continues to thrive today.

In his honor, The Annual Clone-ial Golf Outing was started by a few of his golf buddies and longtime golf league partner, his brother Al. The Clone-ial is an outing to remember Bob and his enjoyment of golf, but, more importantly, it is aimed at raising money to support local youth and families.

Money raised during the event will benefit Bob’s favorite charity, "The Craig Cartwright Memorial Fund.” The Craig Cartwright Memorial fund is a 501(c)(3) organization that Bob co-founded in 2014, with some of his lifelong friends after the passing of their good friend Craig.

The Craig Cartwright Memorial Fund was established to support local youth and families who may need extra support. Through the Craig Cartwright Memorial Fund, a Bob Clone Scholarship has been established to assist two students from Eaton Rapids High School (Bob and Craig’s alma mater), and one student from Holt HS in attending college. Students are identified and selected based on the ways they demonstrate leadership in the classroom and larger community.

The Bob Clone Scholarship aims to continue supporting students for many years to come, and relies on support from golfers (or golf fans) like you! We are seeking to raise $15,000 to give three additional awards at the end of the 2021-2022 school year. We’d love to see you on the course, with your friends and family, playing a round of golf and eating a hot dog at the turn – just like Bob would have done.

Register you, or your team using the links above. We hope to see you on September 24th!
