500+ years before C-3PO and the invention of AI or computers, Leonardo created the 'robotic knight'. The robot could stand, sit, raise its visor, independently manoeuver its arms, and had an anatomically correct jaw. It was operated by a series of pulleys & cables. Several concepts behind the "robotic knight" were used to design planetary exploration robots used by NASA.
