More about the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund

The Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund was established during the summer of 2016, after his passing to help families that may require financial assistance to play hockey in London. Mike loved hockey and played the sport for most of his life (with the London Junior Knights from Novice to Minor Midget). When his hockey playing days were over, he transitioned into coaching and enjoyed interacting and developing young players.

Mike was a man of integrity and fairness, he  thought anyone who wanted to, should have the chance to play the sport he loved so much.  Mike believed that every kid should have a chance to play hockey at the level
suitable to their skills not what the family could afford.

A “Go Fund Me” account was subsequently established to enable others wishing to donate to the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund to contribute throughout the year.

The intention of the Golf tournament is to continue to assist families each year with sons/daughters playing for the London Jr. Knights.

To date, the Mike Ikeno Memorial Hockey Fund has raised over $20,500 and has been able to financially assist hockey players with funds to help offset the cost of playing on their respective London Jr. Knights’ teams.
