40th Thunderbird Golf Classic

The Thunderbird Golf Society was formed in 1985 to secure the future of the UBC Varsity Golf Teams. Ken Mahon and Marty Zlotnik were integral players in forming the Thunderbird Golf Society and starting the Classic. The Society has hosted the Thunderbird Golf Classic since then in order to meet their fundraising goals.  UBC varsity golf has won 9 NAIA (US Championships) since joining the association in 1999 and 24 Golf Canada University Championships since the event inception in 2003.

UBC Golf has built a legacy as a dominant force for UBC Athletics and one of the most decorated programs in NAIA history. To stay at the top of this competitive field we need to attract and retain the premier golf talent by enhancing the Thunderbird experience for our student-athletes through investing in the best competitive opportunities, training facilities and elite coaching.
